Blue Moon

SOLD
While most Blue Moons are rare enough to capture attention, a blue Blue Moon—where the Moon actually takes on a blue hue—is an even rarer spectacle. This occurs when atmospheric conditions, such as volcanic ash, wildfire smoke, or specific cloud types, filter the light, casting the Full Moon in a mesmerizing blue tint. Unlike a typical Blue Moon, which is defined by the calendar, the true "blue" effect is caused by airborne particles, making this event both a stunning visual and a rare natural phenomenon.

Each piece is made painstakingly by hand - the raw porcelain is coloured with body stain, then pressed onto an origami mould to create the ripple.

Painted metal stem on a custom made oiled base of Greenheart, felted to protect surfaces.
