Lunar Reflection

Born from my fascination with light and shadow, the passage of time and how the dichotomy that the rhythm of our  high-tech twenty first century life is still tied to the moon; we are rooted in the past.

Each individual piece started out as a perfect square. The surface distortion is achieved with a unique blend of porcelain with origami. The raw porcelain is press moulded onto a fabric origami form. The hollow stem is formed separately and attached while the clay is still damp. Work is unglazed and fired to 1250’C.

Can be hung horizontally or vertically.
