The Rhythm of the Oak

SOLD

A Year in the Life of an Oak: A Homage in Porcelain and English Oak
This sculpture embodies the oak tree’s life cycle, from the vibrant growth of spring to the quiet stillness of winter. Crafted in porcelain and English oak, it reflects the passage of time, celebrating nature’s cycles of growth, change, and renewal. More than a tribute to the oak, it is a meditation on time itself, and the constant flow of transformation and renewal.
Origami meets porcelain. Each porcelain piece is made colouring the raw porcelain with body stain then press-moulding onto an origami form.
The porcelain is left unglazed to capture the crispness of the origami folds.

The background and frame is custom made. Hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Calke Green, edged with oak and ready to hang.
Dimensions 80 x 90 cm
