Each commission is a collaboration - a work made specifically for you, your space and the people who will live with it. Colour palette, scale and composition are developed in response to your brief, with the full range of Kate's practice available to draw on.
Commissions are limited each year to ensure the time and care each piece deserves. If you are considering a commission, getting in touch early is advisable.

An initial conversation - by email, phone or in person at the studio - establishes the brief: the space the work is intended for, scale, colour, and any particular themes or ideas you want to explore. Kate will then develop a proposal and discuss it with you before work begins.
A non-returnable deposit is required on confirmation of the commission, which is deducted from the final price. Prices depend on the size and scope of the work. Please allow around 8 weeks from confirmation to completion.

Commission, 2022 A large-scale work designed for a specific 1.4m × 2.1m wall space. The clients made bold colour choices, working with Kate to balance vivid porcelain forms against white and pale plaster tones. The resulting piece was designed around the character of the couple and the room it was made for. |
