Ensō

SOLD

‘Ensō’ comes from Japanese calligraphy and is a circle symbol that expresses a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. It is closely connected with Zen Buddhism and represents enlightenment, perfection, strength, elegance and the universe.

Contrasting pure white and onyx black porcelain. Each piece is press-moulded onto plaster moulds of origami-folded fabric to create the rippled edge. Ripples of oak provide mid-tones and echo the movement in the porcelain.

The background and frame is custom made and edged with oak.
Framed and ready to hang 80 x 90 cm
