Komorebi

SOLD

A symbiosis of earth and sky.
'Komorebi' is a Japanese term that roughly translates as "the scattered  light that filters through when sunlight shines through trees".

English oak combines with glazed porcelain to capture the light in a woodland and a window to the sky.
Origami meets porcelain. Each piece is press-moulded onto plaster moulds of origami-folded fabric to create the rippled edge and then glazed with celadon green.
Ripples of oak echo the movement in the porcelain.

The background and frame is custom made. Hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Calke Green with a painted celadon green centre and all edged with oak.
Framed and ready to hang 66 x 66 cm
