OK, I've cheated, I'm talking about a verb string, the list of doing words that make up our lives. And the bowl I'm referring to is a delicate press-moulded porcelain bowl. You can see its emergence in this short video which shows only six parts from a long list of processes that each of my bowls need to go through to emerge, swan-like, from a lump of raw clay: rolling, compacting, cutting, joining, smoothing, fitting, compressing, trimming, drying, fettling, etching, loading, bisqueing, unloading, fettling, glazing, cleaning, loading, firing, unloading, finishing...done! And don't forget the infuriating verb string of: cracking, breaking, swearing!, recycling that a small percentage of bowls follow (usually over half way through the processes, grrrr). Delicate, faceted porcelain bowl with a green celadon glaze. Pressed into a 3D printed mould. Highly original. Handmade and each unique. Music: Made of Stone by The Stone Roses
