There's a new kiln god in town

After the disasters of last week and new work going into the dreaded gas kiln for an overnight firing, I thought I would enlist all the help I could get and selected a friendly looking kiln god to sit above the kiln and send good vibes down. I'll find out tomorrow how much power it holds...

Last week was also spent reframing my porcelain wall work ready for the 'Shades of Clay' exhibition at Kunsthuis Gallery. It was a long slow process to develop the kind of framing I wanted -a shadow floating frame. There was also a lot of measuring, cutting, fixing, clamping and sanding, but I look forward to painting the frames and rehanging the porcelain work so that I can see if all that hard work was worth it.

These two beauties are looking hopeful after first firing. The linen texture has been beautifully captured in the porcelain.
